Our story

A family table, from Syria to Galerie Bortier.

We are a family with a long history in food and hospitality. It started in Syria, in restaurant kitchens, and grew into importing the best ingredients from Syria, Lebanon and Turkey across Europe under our own brand, Baytoty — which means home-style flavour.

Mezzeway is where that comes full circle: my wife and I cook dishes with a 100% homemade Syrian and Lebanese taste, made with the ingredients we have trusted for years, served with the warmth of our family's table.

Inside the Galerie Bortier

Mezzeway is one of the counters of the Galerie Bortier, the 1848 covered arcade designed by Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar, the architect of the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries. Reopened in late 2024, it brings together antiquarian booksellers, artisans and food counters, a short walk from the Grand-Place.
